Electric Relaxation...ATCQ

In case you haven't heard, the Apple Iphone is on its way - Woop Woop! According to CNBC and Gizmodo, Steve "Can You Get Me A" Jobs received his patent this morning to get the manufacturing started and hopefully it'll be out by next year. Read my post here about getting out of a cell contract to get the new iPhone once its here.

Marketing, mystery and word of mouth of the new phone have me clocking and stalking Apple's every move. But see, I've been waiting for a great phone to come out b/c that Chocolate didnt win me over and I'm blackberried out so I need a great phone I can do a lil' electric relaxation with. Do I need to chill on the obsession? I'll let that marinate and come up with an answer after I get my new phone.

Blueprint and mark up of the patent design for the new Iphone - to keep costs down, it will be fashioned just like the video ipod

The Vapors...Biz Markie

If you are using Firefox 2 or MS Explorer 7, your passwords might be at risk if your are using sites that allow user generated html such as blogs and popular social network site Myspace. Hear about it from CNet's podcast below:

Its called the Reverse Cross Site Request vulnerability (RCSR) hack and it allows hackers to steal usernames and passwords by presenting a fake log in form. Users of Firefox are more susceptible to the hack because it has the "Remember your password?" option. So if you are using a firefox browser, it would be best for you to disable this option until the these joy riding geeks at large can catch the vapors. A friend of mine already had her Myspace hacked, and it sent out porn bulletins to all her "friends." For more detailed info, or possible remedies, check out the article at ZDNet.

Download the song here at Supload. Listen to the lyrics and let it reflect and marinate. More love, less hate; more Beyonce less Brittany; less talking, more change.

Jefferson Parish, LA sheriff Harry Lee is at it again. He stated earlier in the month that he would "stop, search and run background checks on young black males congregating in high-crime areas." (DC Examiner) Wow, doesnt that sound like racial profiling to you?

If you dont know who Mr. Lee is, let me bring you back to New Orleans, August 2005. If you recall, many people who were trapped at the Convention Center and the Superdome in NO were trying to cross the bridge to escape to Gretna....however, Mr. Lee's enforcement stopped them dead in their tracks with loaded guns. He didnt want his white flight suburbs to be infiltrated by the masses of en route blacks so he cut off the evacuees means of escape with armed officers. Yep, now do you remember him? No?

Okay, then for you hip hop heads out there, he was the sheriff that was pissed beyond pee when rapper, C-Murder, tried to release an album and a video which had some focus on the racial profiling that goes on in NO. Some of the album and the video was completed while C-Murder was in residence in Mr. Lee's jail cell. (full story) Okay, now your remember right ?

This guy, Lee, just has a penchant for causing agitation and dissension among the black population. Heres a background of his earlier atrocities targeting black people (AlterNet):

During the 1980s, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Harry Lee famously ordered special scrutiny for any black people traveling in white sections of the parish. "It's obvious," Lee said, "that two young blacks driving a rinky-dink car in a predominantly white neighborhood ... They'll be stopped."

The New Orleans Gambit newsweekly reported that 1994, "after two black men died in the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center within one week, Lee faced protests from the black community and responded by withdrawing his officers from a predominantly black neighborhood. 'To hell with them,' he'd said. 'I haven't heard one word of support from one black person.'"

The Gambit also reported in April of this year that in Jefferson Parish, officers were found to be using as target practice what critics referred to as "a blatantly racist caricature" of a black male. Sheriff Lee laughed when presented with the charges. "I'm looking at this thing that people say is offensive," he says. "I've looked at it, I don't find it offensive, and I have no interest in correcting it."

These accusations of "target practice" gained force a few weeks later with the May 31 killing of 16-year-old Antoine Colbert, who was behind the wheel of a stolen pickup truck with two other teens. One hundred-ten shots were fired into the truck, killing Colbert and injuring his passengers. In response to criticism from black ministers over the incident, Lee responded "They can kiss my ass."

Sometimes your past keeps you from reaching your potential in the future. Stop clinging on and wash off! You remember when you were little and you mother gave you one look and told you to wash your face. She wouldnt leave until the remnants of what you went through during the day that stubbornly stuck to you were washed off. So wash off the crusty past and move onto higher ground. Let that marinate.

The "most beautifullest thing in this world" fashion look I've seen this week has to go to Bill Bellamy. He just throws in it and mixes it altogether so nicely like good mashed potatoes (excuse the food references, but its thanksgiving & its been awhile since homecooked food hit my palette)

While some of us were stuffing ourselves with turkey, pecan pie, turnip greens, string beans, cornbread, macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, sweet potato pie, potato salad, and Aunt Kate's candied yams, others were busy falling victim to fashion faux pas, although they all looked better than I was on Thanksgiving after that second round of that baked mac and cheese with the bread crumbs on top. There's nothing wrong with doing your tahng, but I hope they change it up real quick because-

"Change, shoot, I guess change is good for any of us;
Whatever it take for any of y'all to get up out the hood looks; Shoot, I'm wit cha, I ain't mad at cha; Got nothing but love for ya, do your thing boy"

Yesterday down in the "A" the police shot and killed a 92 year old woman who answered the door with a .22 when they tried to barge into her home. Its very sad, but check the video from the ABC local news affiliate of the deceased woman's aunt. She's fighting mad but I swear this is old school gangsta at its finest. It reminds me of my OG aunts (RIP Aunt Doris.) Check out niece's rant in its entirety here at Atlanta's ABC..

I am still very proud that we have some Congressional Black Caucus members moving up in the political world. Once Pelosi became House majority leader, black politicians were able to take on key chair positions in the law making committees of this nation. For example, John Conyers of Michigan will top the all important Judiciary Committee, Bennie Thompson of Mississippi to Homeland Security, Juanita Millender-McDonald of California to House Administration and last but not least, New York's Charlie Rangel will head the Ways and Means. Well, first he got Senator Chip Pickering's (R)panties in a bunch when he disrespected the state of Mississippi. NOWWWWWW, Cab Calloway wants to reinstate the draft. Cab, are you taking your meds....seriously? I feel you on the disparity in the racial makeup of our country's enlisted, but I really dont believe Chuck and Sue are going to let their precious Bobby go fight in Iraq or Afghanistan...believe me they probably have the resources to get out of it and send Bobby to Paree to do some overseas studying or something while Pookie and Jose go off to fight in his place. Therefore, the same percentages of people enlisted will eventually resemble pre-draft numbers...unequal number of economically bound minorities on the front lines. Check out what others have to say and let that marinate and form your own opinion.

I was not going to address this issue on my blog. I'm a positive person, even though I take my time out to critique bad fashion judgment from time to time, but overall, I all about that positive karma. However, I cant live under a rock either. Therefore I have to address the Kramer incident.

The Despicable Act

This was bad, I mean really bad. Even this was enough to get Jaime Foxx in fighting mode. But, true enough, comedy shows tend to be racy, even black comedians make fun of the white people in their own acts, however, the N-word is a very sensitive & sore subject when belted out by a certain member of society. Thats just the way it is. I even dont condone my own race calling each other out by the moniker.

THE BLUNDERING EXCUSE

WHAT MORE CAN I SAY? The insult was really nuts and the apology was even more insane. You know what Kramer, We dont believe you we need more people!!! You know, I never really watched Seinfeld, yes it was witty and all, but where were my peoples at? I asked the same of Everybody loves Raymond, Sex in the City, and Friends (up until Aisha Tyler spit a few lines for a NY minute). The world is not all white and some of these hot tv shows are not reflecting the diversity in America. Is it by choice these shows dont chose to pick other colors from the crayola box. Is Sarah JP and Raymond undercover racists as well? Like I say, "Who knows the hearts of men but God and alcohol?"

NPR afro-american roundtable discussed the issue and you can listen to it by fastforwarding the player below to the 11 minute segment. They give another side to the story....what do you think....marinate on that.
